Natural Park Učka
The Učka Nature Park comprises an imposing mountain range that rises above the Opatija riviera and, together with the Ćićaria mountain, divides Kvarner and mainland Croatia from Istria.
It was declared a natural park in 1999 due to its close proximity to the sea, specific climate, rich habitat where we find many endemic, endangered and protected plant and animal species and lush forest vegetation.
On the highest peak of Vojak, at 1396 meters above sea level, an unforgettable view opens in all directions from the Alps in the north, Istria in the west to the Kvarner Islands in the south. The hike to the top of Učka is not demanding, as it mainly leads through dense forests that provide shade and fresh mountain air.
